Mandi is a 2001 graduate of the Northwest Institute of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NIAOM) and in 2019 graduated with a Doctor of Acupuncture degree from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (PCOM). NIAOM has since been integrated into BASTYR University. She is a nationally certified acupuncturist and a Diplomat of Acupuncture through the National Certification Committee of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
Mandi founded Albany Acupuncture Clinic in 2002 to offer the many benefits of acupuncture care to the citizens of the central Willamette Valley. Growing up farming and graduating a member of the National Honor Society from Central Linn, she is well aware of the health challenges living in the valley presents.
Mandi is a proud member of the Oregon Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, American Acupuncture Council, American Society of Acupuncturists, and N.A.D.A. By regularly attending continuing education, she is continually expanding her toolbox of modalities to offer to her patients. Mandi has developed a system of insertion that is gentle and often not even noticed. By doing so, she has opened the medicine to people that have a fear of needles. She is trained in Fascial CounterStrain (FCS), as well as Acutonics, which utilizes sound to activate the points and meridians instead of needles.
Mandi holds a core belief that healing is a cooperative effort of the body, mind, and spirit. She strives to inform patients on the functions of their body and encourages them to listen to what it tries to tell them. Symptom resolution will most effectively occur when the root of the cause is directly addressed.
Mandi enjoys the outdoors, gardening, camping, family, friends, and animals in her spare time. She is an active supporter of SafeHaven and is a PADI certified scuba diver and challenges herself with remodeling tasks. She is also trained in Feng Shui for Architecture and Design by Master Simona Mainini, using the Space and Time Theory called Xuan Kong or Flying Star Feng Shui.
At Albany Acupuncture Clinic, Mandi is trained in Traditional Chineses Medicine (TCM) Acupuncture. Needles are single-use and Clean Needle Technique is strictly adhered to. Diagnosis involves accessing your pulses (on each wrist), looking at the top surface and underside of your tongue, palpating along meridians and areas of dis-ease, and discussing your individual history and goals for your treatment.
